Pretty pictures are below. Feel free to skip the wall of text.

Are you reading the text after all? Awesome!

At the time the story takes place, "augmentation"- the modification of human bodies using machinery- has changed many lives for the better. Unfortunately, it had the unintended effect of  widening the divide between classes.

In exchange for life-changing augmentation, Bennett has sworn to raise and protect Jamie, a nonverbal and endlessly curious girl.

With this story I'm hoping to take a whole new approach to robot/cyborg fiction, focusing on the affect this technology would have on society (partly inspired by Asimov's famous robot anthology). The protagonist will also break the stereotype of the aggressive battle robot, by taking on a traditionally feminine role. (Don't worry, there's totally gonna be awesome robot battles too.)

There may also be some special focus on the divide between classes. In particular, the poorer half of society is known for its artistic and nonconforming culture, which cherishes flaws as well as strengths. Meanwhile, the richer half is all about strength and conforming to expectations.

This is the part I struggle with the most, because it's so easy to be cliche and biased towards the creative class. One idea is to divide them roughly in two: the ones who make the most of their creativity and acceptance, and the outlaws who abuse the social freedom they have been given.

That's all for text. Now, to the pictures!
